Flattering & inexpensive one pieces for moms- 2019

As I was packing for our upcoming getaway to a local hot springs, I realized that I hadn’t worn a swimsuit since before I was pregnant with Henry. I tried on my old swimsuits and needless to say–they didn’t fit quite the same. I needed to find a new swimsuit quick! I was looking for a one piece that was under $50, not too “grannyish”, I could receive quickly and was flattering! I am also 5’8″ so I needed one that would fit my torso.

I carefully read TONS of reviews for one pieces on Amazon. I ended up ordering eight different suits to try on and I was pleasantly surprised by liking almost all of them! I also found several that I loved from Target. I wasn’t expecting to find so many that fit my “criteria”–I actually had a hard time deciding which to keep!

I am going to share pictures of myself wearing them as well as links below. Pictures of myself in a swimsuit are not something I am particular eager to post online–but I hope that seeing the suits on a “real” person will be helpful to you so that you can find a suit to rock this summer! Also, please excuse Henry in the bathtub– he was taking a “dry bath” (playing with toys in the tub) while I took pictures 😉

This was hands down my favorite suit. It is a dupe for this suit from Anthropologie that costs $118!! The fabric is thick and good quality. I found it to be really flattering with great support. The fabric almost has some compression to it and hides any lumps and bumps really well. I ordered both the blue and striped pattern and loved them both, although I ended up just keeping the blue. It fits true to size and the length was okay for me, although I think if you are any taller it might be too short.

This suit was just okay for me. It lacked the structure that the others did, so I didn’t find it as flattering. It also didn’t support my chest very well. If you are under 5’8” it would probably be a better fit! It comes in lots of different colors and patterns.

I think this one piece is SO cute, but I ordered up in this one since the straps weren’t adjustable and it was a little too big. Since the top is looser you will actually want to order your true size or even size down, so you don’t have any slips! Overall, I thought this suit was great quality–it just might not be the most practical due to the loose fitting chest (especially if you wear it around kiddos!)

I LOVE this suit– it was another keeper! I was initially drawn to this suit because the floral pattern reminded me of an Albion Fit swimsuit that I’ve seen and love! (although if floral isn’t your thing, they have tons of other patterns and colors) This one piece has a ruched stomach, which is really flattering. It fit true to size and I made me feel really confident and secure! You can also wear the straps two ways (see the picture above and how I am wearing it).

This one piece is really similar to the previous one. The only difference I found was that the chest area seemed to have less fabric, so it might be better if you have a smaller bust. However, I don’t think either suit would be great for an A or B cup. It was a good quality, flattering suit and would be a great solid black option!

This suit comes in so many cute colors and prints! I ordered a size large because medium wasn’t available in the color I wanted and it was too big. Order your true size. I felt like this suit didn’t have as good of “compression” as some of the others and wasn’t very forgiving in the stomach area. I really had to suck in in this pictures, where as the others I was more relaxed 🙂 This is a great suit for all heights though because the back is completely adjustable. It is also has a slightly cheekier cut than some of the others.

This swimsuit was probably my least favorite–it just wasn’t my style and the top was a little too revealing for me. It would be a great option if you were looking for a sexier suit though! It comes in a variety of colors and patterns. I got a size medium and it fit like a glove, although any larger of a bust and I wouldn’t suggest this suit!

Target One Piece Swimsuits:

I tried on all of these swimsuits below, but wasn’t able to take pictures of them since I was with my little buddy 🙂 They all have great ratings, seemed like high quality and fit well and true to size. Overall, I was highly impressed by Target’s new swim line, Kona Sol. They seem like really great quality and fit great! I loved every suit I tried on from that brand!
