What I Read in September and October

September and October were some great reading months for me! I’ve read (almost) 20 books and of those, I really liked seven of them, and loved five! Since I’m covering so many books this month, reviews will be on the shorter side and the books will be linked (commissionable), if you’d like to read the synopsis. Books with longer reviews were graciously received ARCs from NetGalley. Books that I really liked: The books in this category are good and I recommend them! Solid 4 star reads for me. The God of the Woods: This book was majorly hyped up this summer!! And while I thought it was a really good,…

The Ultimate Simplify Your Life List

Several years ago I created “Operation House to Haven” and a home project notebook as a way to keep track of everything I wanted to simplify in our home. I love and stand by that system, BUT also recognize that it can feel overwhelming. Right now, I’m in a season where it was feeling like too much, so I simplified the process to all fit on one page. I love this style of list because your “brain dump” stays in one spot (so you can add to it if needed!), but you can fold it backwards so it doesn’t feel as overwhelming! I also further simplified it by adding a…

    What I Read in May

I read a lot of *okay* books in May, a few good ones, and a few that I thought were terrible. I had a ton of books checked out from the library and was focusing on reading them before they were due instead of leaning into what I *actually* wanted to be reading. You live and you learn though, right?!πŸ˜‰ In June, I’m really going to try to lean into my own reading interests and preferences, versus what that latest hyped books are. I also am going to refocus on my goal of reading books I already own. I LOVE the library, but I also need to stop collecting books…

How I’m Making Hard Times Feel Better

Let me start by saying–this isn’t my typical type of blog post. It’s very personal and not very concise and I’m sure the grammar isn’t great. I wrote this out as a way to process and thought I would share it just in case it is helpful for anyone else to read. I know it’s always helpful for me to read other people perspectives during similar challenges, so I hope I can provide a sense of solidarity to a few of you if possible. As I mentioned on my Instagram post- I’m not at all sharing this for pity. I know that unfortuantley there are far worse things going on…

    75 Sustainable Challenge (A 75 hard alternative)

For the past few years I’ve been tempted to try the 75 Hard Challenge SO many times. If you know me, you know I LOVE a good challenge. And I love the concept of mental toughness behind the original 75 Hard Challenge. HOWEVER, I know that while maybeeee I could complete 75 Hard…it wouldn’t really be sustainable for me long term. And after 33 years of life, I’ve tried enough “quick fixes” to know that I don’t want to do them anymore. It’s one thing to do a challenge, it’s a whole different ballgame to develop long lasting healthy habits. So I did a little brainstorm- “I feel the best…
