Easter Basket Ideas for Toddlers (from Amazon!)
This post shares over 60 easter basket ideas for toddlers from Amazon including Easter basket alternatives, arts & crafts, toys, books, bath toys, educational toys and practical items!
Easter is one of my favorite holidays and I LOVE creating intentional Easter baskets for my toddler, Henry. I try really hard to only buy him toys on Christmas, his birthday and Easter, so I put a lot of thought into what goes into his basket! I want his Easter basket to be filled with items that he can use all year long and that won’t break and be tossed in the trash at the end of the day. For this reason, the items that you will find on this list are useful, practical, educational or promote open ended or creative play.
There are over 60 ideas so I have categorized them into: basket alternatives, toys, arts and crafts, outside toys, books, bath toys, educational toys and practical items. Each category has a range of prices, so I hope there is a little something for everyone!

Easter Basket Alternatives:
I love the idea of using something than a typical Easter basket to present goodies in! We don’t have a lot of extra storage and I like the idea of being able to use the “basket” more than once a year! Last year we used the wagon (pictured below) and this year we are filling up a dump truck!
Green toys wagon: This wagon is the perfect size for toddlers! Henry loves filling his up and pulling it around.
Colossal Cruiser Dump Truck: This giant dump truck is most similar to what we will be using this year. Afterwords, it will make a great outside toy!
Little Tikes Grow with Me Swing: I’ve also seen these swings be used as Easter baskets! They hold up to 50 pound kiddos.
Mini Shopping Cart: This was another options that I was considering that I know Henry would get a lot of use out of!
Toys:
Color and shape egg matching set: These look like so much fun for toddlers who love to open and close containers. I also love that they are educational and can be used all year long! (
Chick Life Cycle Puzzle: I adore the concept of this puzzle! What a simple way to teach toddlers about a chick’s life!
Plush Rabbit Coin Bank: I don’t know about you…but at two years old, my son already has way too many stuffed animals! I love that this one looks like a stuffed animal-but is really a coin bank!
Green Toys Build A Bouquet Stacking Toy: This looks like such a fun spring themed AND educational toy! Great reviews too.
Road Tape: This one isn’t necessarily spring or Easter themed, but defintley a fun addition! I put this in Henry’s stocking and he loves using it to play with his Hot Wheel sized cars!
Playful Pet Hand Puppets: Puppets are so much fun for toddlers and can help build language skills! This set includes a rabbit so it is Easter worthy 😉
Cabbage Patch Honey Bunny Doll: I think I love these as an adult because I remember playing with my Cabbage Patch dolls as a little girl! So stinkin’ cute!
LCD Drawing Tablet: These are so inexpensive and great for doodling on the go! I love these for younger toddlers especially who are notorious for drawing one thing on a piece of paper and the requesting another piece 😉
Dino Sorting Toy: Sort the dinos into the correct color egg. Great for learning to count and identify colors! (<$20)
Toddler Gardening Set for Pretend Play: This set is so cute and perfect to use in make believe play- especially if you have a garden or lots of plants at home! (<$20)
Wooden Musical Egg Maracas: What toddlers don’t love making noise? These egg shakers make a soft noise that is perfect for learning rhythm all year long– and they have five star reviews!!
Nursing Nola with Baby Bunnies: Manhattan Toy stuffed animals are some of the best and I couldn’t love the concept of this stuffed animal more. The babies attach to their mommy with magnets- what a great way to teach little ones about how mother’s feed their babies!
Picasso Magnetic Tiles Car Pieces: If your little one already has magnetic blocks, consider adding some accessories to their basket this year! They even have magnetic toy people!
Farm Baby Animal Figurines: Henry loves playing with animal figurines and I love that they can be used for so much open ended play! These baby animals are perfect for Easter time! (<$10)
Manhattan Bunny with Swaddle: I love that this bunny comes with a swaddle! Would be especially fun for a big brother or sister to be! (<$20)
Emotion Peg Dolls: These little dolls would be great for introducing emotions to toddlers and could be used for all kinds of imaginative play!
Dinosaur Fossil Eggs: These are so much fun…especially if your little one loves dinos and/or hammering!
Calico Critters Sweetpea Rabbit Family
If your little one loves Calico Critters, this bunny family would be a great addition to their Easter basket! An open ended toy that will be loved for years! ($20+)
Tender Leaf Wooden Toys: These last two items are a little more expensive, but I still wanted to include them because they are beautiful, high quality pieces, all with a spring theme! Click on the pictures to be taken to the link.
Arts & Crafts:
I always try and use holidays as a time to restock any art supplies and add a few to our collection! Here are a few of our favorites.
Crayola my First Palm Grip Crayons: These crayons are designed for young toddlers; they are not only more durable, but easy for those little hands to hold! One toddler crayon is equivalent to 14 regular crayons too-so they last a long time!
Magic Stix: Henry will be receiving these in his basket this year- they can last up to 7 days with the lid off without drying out! They are a little more expensive than regular markers, but it will be worth it to not have to throw dried out markers away! We also like the Kwik Stix by this brand!
Reusable Sticker Book: This sticker book looks amazing! SO many stickers and based on the reviews sounds like it is great quality!
Easter Bunny Felt Kit: Felt activities are always a hit with toddlers and I love this Easter themed one!
Easter Egg Stamps: This set of twelve Easter egg stampers is less than $6! I love that they are self inking and I can see toddlers LOVING these (with supervision of course 😉 )
My First Wooden Stamp Set: Here is another great stamp option if you don’t want an Easter specific version!
Water Wow: If you haven’t introduced these to your toddler- they are a must! Use water to “paint”, completely mess free! There are several different versions, but I thought this Bible stories version was perfect for easter!
Mess Free Reusable Coloring Book: This is another great option for mess free coloring! It comes with dust free chalk to use on the pages- when your toddler is done, you can just wipe it off! There are several different versions available.
Spring colored Play Doh: I love that this can be used for Easter creations, but also all year long!
Dot Markers: Henry loves using these!!
Bunny Emoji Sticker Roll: A fun way to talk about emotions with your toddler!
Outside toys:
Garden tool set with tote: This set is inexpensive and the tote would make a great alternative to a traditional Easter “basket”! Perfect for any garden helpers!
Toddler Bunny Soccer Ball: A soccer ball that is made just for toddlers! Includes a pump. There are other designs available, but I thought this bunny was perfect for Easter!
Easter sidewalk chalk: This set contains 18 pieces and is especially great for toddlers because the bigger shapes are more difficult to break! This would be a fun addition to an Easter egg hunt too.
Splash Bombs: These are so much fun to play with in the water! I loved playing with them as a kid and Henry did last summer as well.
Books:
Springtime Babies: Henry and I both love Little Golden Books! This one all about baby animals will be perfect to read this spring.
The Honeybee: This book has beautiful illustrations and playful, catchy text. One of those books that will continued to be loved for years!
Little Blue Truck’s Springtime: If you haven’t already discovered Little Blue Truck books for your toddler, they are a must! My husband and I both actually enjoy reading them and Henry loves them too of course! 😉
The Story of Easter: If you are looking for a book to explain the story of Easter, in a toddler friendly way, this is it! The carrying handle is also fun!
Over in the Meadow: A cute springtime sing-a-long that includes a CD! Jill McDonald has the most eye catching illustrations for little ones; Henry always seems really drawn to her books.
The Itsy Bitsy Bunny: Henry loves any book that can be sang, so it’s no surprise that he loves the “Itsy Bitsy” series, this Easter version is no exception!
Spring in the Forest: This book is beautiful and has flaps and pop outs that toddlers love!
Bath toys:
Nesting Eggs: Henry loves the nesting doll set we got him for Christmas, so I know these will be a big hit too! I plan on using these as a bath toy because they double as pouring cups, but they defintley aren’t limited to tub time!
Essential Oil Bath Bombs: These come in kid friendly scents and have a little toy hidden inside!
Stack and Pour Buckets: These buckets are a great price and I think would be adorable stuffed with some treats in an Easter basket! (<$10)
Bathtime baby doll: This small doll was made for taking in the bath and dries quickly! The purple bunny towel makes it perfect for Easter. (<$10)
Easter Rubber Duckies: This is a set of 12 easter themed rubber ducks- would be fun to include on an Easter egg hunt! (<$10)
Educational toys:
My teacher heart can’t resist sneaking in a few educational toys! I love that these are all open ended and can be used in so many ways!
Counting manipulatives: We are getting Henry some counting trains to help him learn his colors-but there are SO many ways that these can be used- in sensory bins, for practicing patterns, counting, etc. If your little one isn’t choo choo obsessed like mine, here is the classic bear version!
Unifix Cubes: These are another extremely versatile learning tool that is great for this age (supervised of course!)
Jumbo Nuts & Bolts Set: These are great for practicing color matching, identifying shapes and for strengthening fine motor skills! Henry loves trying to twist caps on and off so I think he will love these!
Touch and Feel Flashcards: I included these in Henry’s basket last year and he still LOVES them! We continue to use them frequently as his vocabulary expands. They are really sturdy and have guiding questions for parents on each card as well.
Practical items:
Bunny pajamas: I love this pair for boys (why is it SO hard to find cute boy pajamas with rabbits on them? Boys like rabbits too!)
There are lots of cute options for girls, but I think these are just darling!
Bunny slippers: Henry loves wearing “shoes” so slippers are a great option for him in the house!
Bunny Toothbrushes: How cute are these? Having a fun, new toothbrush always helps make the dreaded task a little easier too 😉
Stainless Steel Bunny Water Bottle: Another cute, but practical item! I couldn’t find any quality bunny water bottles with straws, but you could defintley trim a silicone straw and use that inside! (Also all the bunny water bottles are pink for some reason- if you are looking for one that isn’t pink- these are our favorite inexpensive toddler water bottles!) (<$15)
Bunny Plate: We have and love this plate! Worth the price if you need a new one for your toddler.
Bunny baseball cap: This is the cutest hat! The brim can be folded up, or left down for sun protection! Several colors available.
