Act of Kindness Idea: Treats for Delivery Drivers (with free printable!)

Spread kindness this holiday season by leaving some treats for your delivery drivers! This post includes a free printable and ideas for what treats to include!

One of the first acts of kindness that we are completing this holiday season is leaving some treats for the delivery drivers that will be visiting our house. This isn’t my original idea, but I love the concept so much that I wanted to make sure and include it on our Advent Kindness Calendar for Kids this year!

I put this out the week after black Friday, shop small Saturday, Cyber Monday, etc because I know that this is an extra busy week of packages being delivered! We also have lots of snow this time of year, so I appreciate the packages being brought to our door even more than usual! Not to mention, all of the packages being delivered means less time spent in crazy, busy stores and more time that I can spend with my family. Needless to say, when you really think about it, delivery drivers are someone who make our lives SO much easer!!

As a way of thanking them, I left a basket of goodies outside on days when I know I will have packages being delivered.

What to include in your basket:

It is completely up to you what you include, but most people tend to include drinks and an assortment of snacks.

We decided to fill our basket with bottled water, granola bars, Cheez-Its and peanut butter sandwich crackers. Honestly, I kept it pretty simple (and inexpensive) and just bought a few boxes of snack packs that happened to be on sale. I also included some hand warmers because it is SO dang cold out (& these have been a HUGE hit!)

Other ideas that I have seen:

  • soda, gatorade or energy drinks
  • Crystal light packets
  • sunflower seeds
  • jerky
  • bags of popcorn
  • protein bars
  • chips
  • cookies, candy or Little Debbie treats
  • candy canes
  • chewing gum or mints
  • fruit
  • trail mix
  • goodie bags filled with homemade treats

Free printable sign:

After filling my basket with treats, I then printed off this sign, laminated it (to protect it from the weather) and then used mini clothespins to attach it to the basket. I just used baskets that I had laying around the house (leftover from my days in the classroom!) Even though it isn’t super fancy, I’m happy with how it turned out!
