2023 Unplugged Hours

Hearing the above statistic for the first time stopped me in my tracks- one of those moments where you think, “What am I even doing with my life?” Because if I’m being honest…my daily average is usually a LOT higher than 3 hours.

Now, I’m NOT hating on phones or social media because I truly think that there can be SO much good to be found here– relationships, connection, inspiration, creativity, learning and entertainment.

Buuut, it can also foster or encourage isolation, comparison, self doubt, bullying, numbness and avoidance.

If I’m going to spend 45 days of my life (or more) on my phone every year- I want to be using it with intention- NOT scrolling 100% of the time. I don’t want to be picking up my phone 100x a day (have you looked at your screen time report? yikes) I don’t want my phone to fill every single second of my free time . I don’t want my kids to see me looking at my phone all day long.

I think 2023 Unplugged Hours will be a good solution for me & will allow for a good balance between screen time and unplugged without going “all or nothing”. It equals ~5.5 hours a day. I will be using the Forest app to track daily and will use this printable to total it up.

If you’d like to try it too, I’d love for you to join me! Download the 2023 Unplugged Hours printable below and use the tag #2023unpluggedhours on social media!
