Note Card Workout

I had about a million things to do during nap time today. I was SO close to skipping my workout but I’m really trying to stop the excuses and be consistent 😉 Luckily I just found this stack of workout cards that I made a few years ago and was able to use them to come up with a quick, but effective workout!

Each color of cards is for a different part of the body. I started with one green upper body card, did the exercise, then chose one orange core card, did the exercise, chose one pink cardio card, etc. Then I started back over with an upper body card. So my workout pattern was: upper body, core, cardio, lower body, upper body, core, cardio, lower body, etc.

After I made it to the fourth row I stopped drawing new cards and repeated the whole thing over again! I did it with very little rest and could do two rounds in about 30 minutes. It went by super fast because I didn’t know what exercise I was going to pull next so I didn’t have an opportunity to dread it 😉 

These cards are great because if you mix them up you get a different workout each time. You can also adapt it for how much time you have by limiting the number of rounds or cards you draw. You could even just use the upper body cards to make an upper body workout, or you could add two cardio cards each round! The options are endless.

How to make your own workout note cards:

If you want to make your own set of workout index cards here are the exercises that I included for each section. You can, of course, change the number of repetitions to suit your current fitness level and can include any exercises that you “enjoy”!

And if you don’t have colored note cards laying around–just use different colored markers to write the exercises!
