Stocking Stuffers for Toddlers

I’m not sure what it is, but stocking stuffers are my very favorite gifts to shop for. I love finding small, unique gifts that I know will be bring joy to my family throughout the year.

With that being said, I try and be very intentional with what I buy. My main criteria for a good stocking stuffer is that it will be used throughout the year. I try and stay away from seasonal, one use items that I know will be tossed in a day or two. This does mean that stockings cost a little bit more in our family, but I’m happy to spend a little extra to waste a lot less.

Since we only have about a week before Christmas (what?!) at the time I’m posting, these are ALL available through Amazon prime. I also only included items that were $10 or less! I know at this point in the season, most of our budgets are just about spent, but I hope that if you need to, you can find a few special stocking stuffers for your little one!

All the toys below are linked to Amazon and are affiliate links, which means that our family earns a small amount at no cost to you. Thank you for your support!

Fine motor tool set: Henry will be able to use this set for years in sensory bins (think with dry pasta/beans/rice/water, etc). Developing fine motor skills is so important for school (and “real life”) readiness!

Road tape: This is probably the item that I am most excited to include in Henry’s stocking this year. It will be so much fun to make roads throughout our house and to use with Hot Wheels sized cars (which he is also getting in his stocking)

Schleich animal figurines: These toy animals are so realistic and high quality compared to others out there. They are a toy that is sure to be loved for years. You can find just about any animal, but how cute is this deer?!

Not Your Ordinary Crayons: These gel crayons are smooth and are so great for toddlers who are just getting the hang of coloring! They can also be used three ways: crayons, pastels or watercolors.

Wooden magnets: These magnets are fun to use on the fridge, easel or on a cookie sheet on long car rides! There are many other different versions, including: dinosaur, princess, Disney, shapes, and more!

Magnetic Wand: Speaking of magnets, I also got him one of these magnetic wands as well as a jumbo magnet. These will be a great learning tool throughout the year that I think he will really enjoy!

Tegu magnetic racer building block set: I wish I had seen this sooner, because this set is SO cute! It comes with three magnetic pieces so that your little one can put it together and then play with it like a regular toy car. It comes in tons of different color combinations too.

Photo album filled with pictures: I think this is probably going to be one of Henry’s favorites this year. He LOVES looking at photos and identifying who/what is in them. The version shown is a baby/toddler proof version, but here is a link to a “regular” small album as well if you little one is pretty gentle with books.

Flashlight: Henry recently has started carrying his nail clippers around because they have a flashlight on them haha. So I think he would LOVE to have a real flashlight of his own.

Water Wow: These are always a mess free good time! We love using them in the car and at the stroller workout class I attend. All you need is water and I love that you can reuse the pages over and over again!

Unpainted wooden trains: Any wooden train would be fun to add to a stocking, but I love that these are unpainted so that your little one can design their own choo choo!

Bright & Early Board Books: These smaller board books are perfect for toddlers. Not only are they a great size, but they have SO many great titles. From Dr. Seuss to Thomas the train-you are sure to find one your toddler will love. The price also can’t be beat-all $5 or under!

Kwik Stix: These solid paint sticks are great for toddlers learning how to control paint! A whole lot less messy than traditional painting and easy and fun to use.

Reusable sticker sets: I LOVE these puffy sticker sets because the stickers can be reused AND because my son can use them independently! Totally worth the extra few dollars compared to regular stickers, in my opinion.

Dimpl keychain: This is a smaller, less expensive version than the regular dimpl toy! Something about these toys is so mesmerizing to little ones!

Pop It! I stumbled across this at Target the other day and wanted to include it. It is similar to a dimpl, but several dollars cheaper and can be played as a game with older kids!

Finger puppets: I love that this set can be used in or out of the bath! And inexpensive compared to others!

Wooden stacking cars: Henry has these and loves playing with them conventionally as well as stacking them. Also good for learning colors!

Doll family: These would be fun to play with in a dollhouse or just to encourage imaginative play! They are wood with bendable arms and legs.

Magic bath book: These books are so fun for the bath-the pages are white until dipped in the water and then they change color!

Restock of well loved art supplies: Coloring books, crayons, markers, stickers and paint are all things I would likely buy throughout the year for Henry to use. Stockings are a great time to replenish these supplies!

Kaleidoscope: Such an “old school” toy but is so fun for little ones to explore!

Touch and Feel Flashcards: If you don’t already own these, they are such a popular “toy” of ours! There are several different versions available.

Color blast! No mess coloring: I love the small, portable size of these and that there is only one marker. They are a similar concept to the Crayola version, but it is nice that these aren’t associated with a specific character like the Crayola ones usually are.

Dot stickers: These can be used in SO many different activities for toddlers. They are great for learning colors, fine motor skills, _____. Check out this post from the Busy Toddler.

Sesame Street Figurines: Henry recently has become obsessed with these characters. They sell them individually at Dollar Tree..but it hard to find any characters other than Elmo. This set is still under $10 and will save you from having to drive around town 😉

I hope you found a few good ideas! Happy Holidays!
